Recently bought a Zyxel NSA325v2, a 2-bay NAS case together with a pair of Western Digital WD30EFRX harddisks (3 TB).
I'm using it in a RAID 1 (mirroring) configuration. The NAS device draws approx. 6 W when idle (disks spun down), 17 W when active, and 20 W peak (when spinning up). One can hear the disks' head movements, but the device is silent when idle thanks to the relatively large 12cm fan.
