Joy of creating self-signed SSL server certificate

Install ssl-cert package and do 

make-ssl-cert /usr/share/ssl-cert/ssleay.cnf /etc/apache2/ssl/apache.pem
Want certificates valid longer than one month? Nope, look here, here (fixed for Ubuntu Intrepid), here.
